Illustrations that Visualise a Narrative

Figuring out your narrative is key to any visual identity building. For The Royal Opera House, we were tasked with crafting a solution which would allow the Paul Hamlyn Hall to create a makeshift, intimate Afternoon Tea environment during the afternoon, before returning to a Champagne bar in the evening. We turned to fauvism for inspiration. The screens’ illustration design came from the exotic flower market which previously stood in the very same place of the Paul Hamlyn Hall.

We created the illustrations to be an adaptable, vibrant pattern which could be applied to the screens as well as to the menus and product packaging, for a sense of continuity throughout the space.

Practical Applications Across Touchpoints

Our illustrations have been applied across interiors as wall murals, backdrops, packaging, and menus. They have also been adapted to serve as visual identity on our clients’ websites and social media. For Brasserie Bellanger in Paris, we created a bespoke floral pattern to apply across collateral, as well as illustrated plates.

For Monte Mente in Berlin, the concept we developed was inspired by the mountainscape of the Mediterranean. We created the entire branding pack, including the signature illustrations that translated into the menus, digital collateral, as well as the interiors.

For Camino, the Spanish favourite in London, we created bespoke floral illustrations that beautifully unfold across the restaurant’s wall panels and murals

Our Work for Big Dog, Berlin

For the Big Dog at the Marriott in Berlin, we used the Dachshund to tell the restaurant’s story. This language then carried through to the menus, collateral, napkins, interiors, and web presence.

For Mei Mei in London’s Borough Market, owned by Michelin-star Chef Elizabeth Haigh, the entire Singaporean menu comes to life through our distinctive illustrated design.

Illustrated Custom Stained Glass

While refreshing the interiors for London’s Frescobaldi, the most significant new feature we introduced was the floor-to-ceiling stained glass window representing the Frescobaldi family tree. Designed in-house by B3, the tree dominates the staircase wall, every leaf telling a story of the brand’s rich legacy.
