Trishna, London
The original Trishna in Mumbai is world renowned for it fresh seafood and attracts celebrities like Liz Hurley and gourmets from all over the world. Trishna has now opened in London’s fashionable Marylebone, and is already considered a welcome addition to the thriving restaurant industry.
Head chef Ravi Deulkar’s (previously head chef of Michelin starred Rasoi Vineet Bhatia in Chelsea) food is a subtle balance between modernity and authenticity, a concept which B3 translated into the interior design of the restaurant.
B3 designers decided to create an interior that used the existing space to its full potential. The building which dates from the late 1800’s revealed original wooden paneling which B3 decided to preserve and incorporate into the new design scheme. The brickwork was exposed where possible and repainted in a warm whitewash.
The fully opening shop front allows diners to appreciate the alfresco dining experience during the summer months.
The low hanging classic Alvar Aalto pendant lamps add a sparkling gleam above each table, attracting customers with a warm golden glow. In the back of the space, the long Koliwada (fisherman’s) table provides a more casual eating experience.
The private dining room located in the basement can seat up to twelve people around a solid oak dining table. The golden highlights are continued with gilded porcelain lights which light up the space. Diners are also offered a view onto the wine cellars.
