Entrecote is a concept restaurant, originated in Paris in the 1950s by a wine merchant, whose aim was to set up a restaurant with the emphasis on the wine rather than the food. The only dish served, therefore, is the simple entrecote that gives it its name.
The brief for the first Entrecote in the UK was to recreate the atmosphere of the Parisian branch, with soft, warm lighting, banquette seating, mirrored walls and wooden tables covered with white paper cloths. The murals, lamps, curtains and furniture all bring to mind the classic French brasserie interior. The result is an unpretentious, welcoming environment in the heart of the West End.
