Cinnamon Kitchen, London

Sister restaurant to the famous Cinnamon Club in Westminster, the Cinnamon Kitchen brings modern Indian cuisine to the heart of the City. Located within Devonshire Square in a former warehouse of the East India Trading Company, the design is a result of the marriage between this industrial building and the intricate, delicate detailing so abundant in Indian culture. Inspired by the geometrical and the floral patterns that form such a big part of the Indian traditional arts the visitor is greeted by a patterned wall of mother of pearl mosaic tiles. This geometric theme is continued with hexagonal coloured cement tiles on the floor.

The warm and distinctive sheesham wood is used throughout the space alongside polished pewter and white and black marble.

The muted colour palette allows each of these rich materials to show off their inherent properties. Silver-plated perforated handmade lamps throw dappled shadows on the walls reflected in the angled mirrors that line the walls.

Within the main dining space, the Indian grill is made from black marble and polished pewter and allows customers to watch head chef Vivek Singh as he creates his famous signature dishes. Continuing in this theatrical approach to cooking, customers seated in the private dining room have a full view of the busy kitchen.

Adjacent to the restaurant, the Anise Bar serves delicious cocktails such as the signature Cinnamon Bellini in a sophisticated environment.
