Restaurant Designers Happy to Talk…

As restaurant designers we are more than happy to meet with you and discuss your existing restaurant or a proposed new development that you are working on. We can offer you an initial free consultation at your existing restaurant or proposed new site. Our initial consultation helps us to understand what you would like to do and how we can best help you. We have many contacts within the restaurant industry and it may be that we refer you to another colleague to help you achieve what it is you require. Our commitment is to building long term working partnerships. If we can’t help you immediately, then we hope that our honest straight talking advice will encourage you to return to us at a later date. Please browse our portfolio for some of our recent restaurant projects. Restaurant Designers that Design for Success Most clients’ objective is to open a restaurant to obtain a good return on their set up costs. To us a good restaurant design means that the client receives a multiple return on their investment. Our aim as restaurant designers is to help get that return achieved. If you’re investing in a new restaurant it’s essential that you work with specialist architectural restaurant designers.

Developing a Concept for a Restaurant Design

We can continue from whatever stage you are at of your restaurant design. You may need a brand new concept, or have an existing venue that needs re-addressing. Both scenarios offer excellent opportunities for us to use our creative skills to enhance the space. As soon as we understand your vision, we are able to create a focussed concept or develop an existing one. Developing the correct concept is an acquired skill we have. Once this is developed we will illustrate our ideas so that you can fully understand how the restaurant will look. Areas that will be addressed will be the overall concept and direction, the ambience, individual materials, textures, furniture, wall finishes, specialist features, the lighting level and right down to the smallest details.

Types of Restaurants that we can Design

There isn’t any type, size or style that we cannot deal with. It is our architectural design and branding skills that enable us to design restaurants across a broad spectrum. When a client asks us to develop a new concept, the first thing we establish is what type of restaurant it is, the type of market the restaurant is hoping to attract, what the competition is, is it an existing establishment that needs attention, does it need a new concept or a new brand identity. Once we have gathered this information it gives us a clearer picture of what the restaurant should be like. We can then begin to work on some initial ideas as to what is appropriate.

A Restaurant Design Concept that Meets the Business Plan

The test of good design is sometimes measured against how much money it makes or how long the design lasts. Our aim is to design restaurants that are successful and align with our clients’ business model.

We aim to deliver restaurant interior concepts and designs that are exciting and memorable, leading to positive returns on investments. We work hard to deliver an exceptionally designed restaurant space.

Our process, in order to avoid stereotypical patterns of design, is a process of questioning that we subject ourselves to during the design process. At each stage of our design we will ask ourselves why we are designing it in such a way, does it answer the brief, is it appropriate, is it memorable, is it exciting, does it have the appropriate semiotic language to reflect the restaurant, will the customer appreciate it? The list with which we question ourselves with is rigorous, but by quizzing ourselves in this way we are continually testing the concept as it develops in order to deliver something exceptional. This ensures that it fulfils the initial vision that was set by either the client or us the designers.

Good concept on paper; now the tricky part, building it! It is one thing to have an idea on paper but another to try and build it. The process of building a space is complex; please see the ‘Approach’ section on this website. However, in principle if the following stages are covered then we can ensure we deliver a successful opening.

Important Factors when Building a Restaurant:

1.  A finalised and signed off set of approved drawings

2.  The bidding or tender process has been set up correctly with a Quantity Surveyor

3.  An appropriate competent contractor has been asked to tender in order to win the  contract

4.Make sure that the procurement timelines are realistic

5. Having a clear communication strategy amongst the client’s team, designer, contractor, quantity surveyor, project manager, managers and site foreman

6. Set up a contract under JCT regulations

7. A start and finish date with 2 additional weeks built in to allow for unforeseen delays

These successfully completed stages will ensure we can deliver a new build restaurant that is delivered on time and on budget, therefore having every opportunity to receive a successful return on investment.
